The artwork, a tribute to Mme Herve Alphand—the spouse of the French ambassador—sits regally in the grand salon of the French Embassy in Washington. Renowned photographer Slim Aarons orchestrates this visual narrative, which he whimsically dubs “Diplomatic Wife.”

With this print gracing your walls, your home will exude the same diplomatic elegance that once filled the French Embassy. It’s the perfect conversation starter, inviting your guests to ponder the social dynamics and glamorous lifestyles of a different time and place.

Durable, vivid, and endlessly intriguing, this Slim Aarons print is more than just a piece of artwork; it’s an experience, an aesthetic journey that beckons you to explore the nuances of high society. Whether you’re a history aficionado or a lover of fine photography, “Diplomatic Wife” offers a chance to redefine your domestic ambiance with a touch of vintage allure.

Prints are listed in cm and inches - what will be the size of my print?
We produce prints in both metric (centimetres) and imperial (inches) sizes.
The sizing system being used depends on the product type and the country in which your order is being sent to.
In most cases there are only a few millimetres difference between the metric and imperial conversions.

How does the border affect the size of the print?
The total size of the print will always be the size that you select.
The border if chosen is internal and slightly reduces the image area.

Which paper do you recommend?
Generally Photo Lustre (Semi Gloss) is recommended for most purposes as it is the middle ground between Matte & Gloss. So the colours will still be vibrant, with a lot less glare.
